The City of Utrecht
Portico Lead Partner,
invites you to the
PORTICO FINAL CONFERENCE
February 26 201
Nearly five years ago, in march 2009, five European partners jointly started the project PORTICO. The cities of Chester, Ghent, Cologne and Utrecht and the Initiative Domplein2013 in Utrecht found each other in a common program. It aims to visualize the partner cities’ archaeological heritage by developing new methods, techniques and ways of thinking about urban development – above and below ground.
No one could envisage the enormous economic changes and developments in social media. Both aspects would have impact on the projects of the different partners.
Now PORTICO is coming to its end I would like to invite you for the Final Conference on Wednesday February 26, 2014 in the City of Utrecht. We feel that we have developed an attractive programme, which allows us to present the achievements of our project, reflect on crucial topics and provide new perspectives to kick-start future endeavours.
During the morning programme “trend analyst, consumer psychologist and manager of future research bureau Pocketing Marketing/nXt” Herman Konings, will provide a keynote lecture on heritage, the future and trends. In the afternoon we invite you to take part in thought-provoking interactive meetings moderated by speakers at the forefront of heritage management, new media, urban development and international cooperation.
It is my pleasure to personally welcome you for an informal reception at city all at the end of the afternoon. I look forward to jointly conclude the conference and look back on a successful cooperation.
Deputy Mayor City of Utrecht
Alderman on Heritage and Culture
