Castellum Hoge-Woerd, building has started
March 14th building of the multifunctional visiting center Castellum Hoge-Woerd in Utrecht officially started. Together with many children Mayor Jan van Zanen presented the first exhibit made by artist Roy Villevoye depicting a span of time of nearly 2000 years. A Roman woman is investigating a propeller of a nearby crashed Junker bomber.
The interaction between different functions (theatre, environment education, archaeological presentation and a restaurant) must ensure a sustainable exploitation.
Hoge-Woerd is one of the partners in the Interreg IVB project PORTICO.
